We are a small jewellery workshop based in Bangor, Co Down in Northern Ireland...known locally as ‘The Gold Coast’...but we intend to make it ‘The Silver Coast’!
Any Cocteau Twins fans out there will know that we took our name from their beautiful song...”Sugar hiccup, hiccup, Sugar hiccup, makes the earth tough and tumble, Sugar hiccup, Heavens curtsey and bow...” Liz Frazer...the voice of an angel!
At the minute it’s just me, KJ, and my business partner Linda, though we couldn’t have got this far without the support of our friends and family. Thanks to Alex at Technikal.net for the website, to Peezer and Nomi at Bangor Colour Copy Shop for help with the graphics, to Paola our inspiration way back in the beginning. To Albert for help with Irish translation. To Big Bill, Kev, Sheryl, Louise, Kate, Carmel, Ryan and Gaz for believing in us and Mary Lou for keeping me sane!
I trained as a Printmaker and gained my BA(Hons) in Fine Art way back in the 1980s at the University of Ulster. I've spent most of my adult life "fighting the bad guys" and teaching. I do most of the designing and my main interest apart from Art (from the Pre Raphaelite Brotherhood to Jack Vettriano) is Psychology. Anyone with an interest in Transactional Analysis will see the influence of "Life Scripts" in our work. Linda takes care of spreading the word and we both spend many hours making the pieces, a lot of love goes into everything we make as we believe that’s what makes them special, we only work in solid Fine and Sterling Silver as that’s what makes them precious. We believe strongly that you get back in life what you give and try always to act ethically, that's our promise.
